Out-Of-Town Patients

Dr. Yael Halaas is a nationally recognized name in the world of facial plastic surgery. Our office is visited daily by patients from many U.S. states as well as other countries. Local and out-of-town patients both can expect equally impeccable service from the moment they contact her office, all the way through treatment and during the procedure’s recovery period.

Scheduling Your Consultation

Patients in the greater New York City area can expect to have a quality consultation at our private NYC office. Our out-of-town patients can schedule a Skype or Facetime video consultation with Dr. Yael Halaas. We ask our patients to contact our office manager, Jill Rosenblum Pegg, to set up the virtual consultation.

  • Our office manager, Jill Rosenblum will most likely ask you to email pictures for Dr. Halaas to review before the consultation.
  • Take close up photos of your full face from a few different angles – frontal view, side view and three quarter view.
  • Prepare a list of questions and concerns for the consultation. Dr. Halaas will address them honestly.
  • If you decide to schedule a surgery, you will be asked to provide a security deposit to set a date. Jill Rosenblum will assist you with hotels, transportation and private nurse services if necessary.

Get Ready For Your Treatment

Procedure Recovery Time Recommended Stay
Rhinoplasty The first two to three days require the most postoperative care. After about a week, your cast will be removed. Overall, it’s common to expect at least two weeks for substantial recovery. If time permits, Dr. Halaas recommends that her out-of-town patients plan to stay in the city for up to two weeks. However, at the minimum, you should plan to stay seven to ten days after your surgery.
Facelift It will take about two weeks for the majority of the swelling and bruising to wear off. You will also need to wear compression wraps for a week. After a week, makeup can also be used to cover any remaining scars. The recommended stay after a facelift is usually up to two weeks. After one week, your compression wraps will be removed. If you had a less invasive procedure, then a week to ten days may be sufficient.
Hair Transplant Though recovery time will differ based on the exact procedure, Dr. Halaas suggests that patients allow about one week for recovery. Many procedures require several sessions for appropriate results to show. Because of that, it’s advisable to plan ahead to stay in the city for one to two weeks.
Injectables Injectables are non-surgical methods of enhancement. Thus, they only require a few days at most for any minor swelling or bruises to disappear. Unlike surgery, with injectables, you can simply fly in, undergo your procedure, and fly back home on the very same day.

COVID-19 Safety Measures

We understand that there may be times when you miss an appointment due to emergencies or obligations for work and family.

However, due to Covid 19. and the current CDC guidelines, we are implementing a new ” no exceptions” cancellation/no show/rescheduling policy effective September 1, 2020.

If any appointment is cancelled or RESCHEDULED less than 24 hours in advance you will be charged a fee of $100. This policy will be in place until further notice and applies to new AND existing clients We apologize for any inconvenience but look forward to getting through this difficult time together.

At Dr. Halaas office, we take our staff’s and patients’ health very seriously. We are implementing safety measures to ensure everyone who comes through our doors will experience the highest level of care and the lowest risk levels.

Safety of our Employees

Each day we are taking our employees temperatures and going over a questionnaire to make sure we are all in the best of health. If anyone has a temperature over 100.4, or has fever, sore throat, chills, loss of taste, cough, shortness of breath, muscle pains, or headache, they will be asked to leave and go see their primary care doctor, or go get tested.

If an employee has been in contact with someone with Covid, we will ask them to get themselves tested, or they will have to quarantine themselves for two weeks.

We have installed a sneeze guard at our front counter for the safety of both our employees and our patients.

Safety of our Patients

Patients must sign up for our patient portal before coming to their appointment

  • Information to get into the portal will be emailed immediately after making an appointment
  • Information to be completed will be medical history as well as a Covid questionnaire
  • Covid questionnaire must be completed for EVERY visit patient makes until further notice
  • We also have a patient app, MyPatientVisit, that we can communicate with the patient when we are ready to see them

All patients must wear masks to their appointment.

We ask patients to come to their appointment alone. Minors may be accompanied by an adult.

Temperature will be taken at the door.

  • If they have a temperature over 100.4 they will be rescheduled and asked to go see their primary care doctor

Once patient has been cleared, we will escort them to their suite where they will be treated.
We have removed water and snacks from our waiting area, as well as all pamphlets regarding services.

Each room will be thoroughly disinfected in between patients
We encourage telehealth consults beforehand, so we can make a plan for when patients do come into office.
